More time...Recruiting updates, and a Girls SHIP!!!

- Congrats to the girls 16U Gold team coached by John Hughes for winning the Great Lakes Shootout which was held July 9-11 in Menomonie, WI. 4 girls named to all tournament team. Hannah Dahlman, Kenzie Spaulding, Paige Beseman, and Abby Knisely.

- Bemidji State has offered both Jayme Moten and Travis Rollo.

- Northern State has offered Seth Hinrichs(along with a half dozen others) Moorhead State did so most recently.

- Mary continues to be at everyone of Blake Maslonkowski and Simon Krych's games. They have offered both.

- Look for Kurt Moody, Trevor Morlock(Coming off a great academic camp in Chicago, where he was said to have played really well) to be offered soon by some NSIC schools.

- Lot's of D1 calls into the Comets coaches, no offers as of yet, but Seth Hinrichs was great in Sioux Falls, and Drake, Idaho took notice amongst others.

- The Big Lake boys job is open, I know someone from our Comet family who'd do a great job there.

Updates

The open evaluation period opened up in July at the Next level Invite, in Milwaukee Wisconsin(In the suburb of Mequon). Great event and the Comets came out well from the get go. Comets Elite 16 Stock went 2-1 in pool play and narrowly lost their bracket game by 3. Comets Elite 16 Lewis survived the Pool of Death and went 1-2 and played Howard Pulley White in bracket play, and won, before falling to Tyus Jones, Tyler Vaughan, and the rest of Howard Pulley Blue.

Seventeens had Comets Seevers win a bracket game and lose a close one to Pulley White, and then Comets Hanson win their pool and lose to Kingdom Hoops out of Iowa. The best part was all of the recruiting attention that all of our guys are getting from D1's to D3's and everywhere in between.

Couple notes

My team lost 3 games, one to the champs, one each to the other two semifinalists. WOW.

Look for E Kentucky and Vermont to stay hot and heavy on Seth Hinrichs.

Sioux Falls

We had a rough weekend in Sioux Falls. I went 1-3 and took more losses in one 24 hour span than we previously had all year. We rebounded and played well in our last two, winning one by 20 and then losing to a really good 17U Fury Gold team(Which made the semis) by a basket. I think it taught us about playing against older competition, and how to execute better.

Our Top 17s won their pool 3-0 easily and then flattened out and lost in the qtrs by 6 to a very beatable team. They should of probably won the whole thing but for sure they should have won that game.

Our 2nd 17s and our top girls teams were the hard luck losers of the day both going 1-3 and both losing on last second shots and in OT.

We send our top 2 16s and 17s to MILWAUKEE JULY 6-9. The schedule can be found at ny2lasports.com
