A little bit of everything

Six quick notes

1. Congratulations to Jake and Janel Sullivan n the adoption of their son Samuel.

2. Good Luck to our girls teams at SUMMER JAM and Comets Elite Stock at Minnesota Showcase Mankato this weekend.

3. Congrats to a former player of mine Bronson Koenig of Lacrosse Aquinas HS. He is going to be a sophomore and just picked up an offer from coach Ryan and the University of Wisconsin.

4. Jordan Riewer picked up a Scholarship offer from Moorhead State and so did Scott Nystrom. It will be interesting to see if one or either decide to go there .

5. If they do that will be 13 of the 19 guys in our ELITE 17u program playing scholarship basketball of some sort . That is amazing, and something coach Hanson and Seevers should be pleased about.

6. Two standouts at Bemidji Elite camp yesterday were Mayer Lutherans Travis Rollo and New Londons Jayme Moten. Neither will lack for scholarship offers soon.

Expanded now that there is some time

We did win state d1. We were seeded #1 so we were expected to do well, but anything can happen and we could've lost in both the quarters or semis. We didn't play rhythym offense, and really forced a lot of looks. We also settled if we didn't force and took a ton of contested long jump shots. Made for some heart pounding sequences along the way. These kids are winners though, and that is a huge part of it, they take the floor expecting to beat you.

My roster is

Scottie Rucks 6'5 Cathedral
Zach Gabbard 6'0 Perham
Damien Reinke 6'6 Becker
Jimmy Unger 6'2 Willmar
Kevin Heysse 6'6 Tech
Nate Meyer 6'4 ROCORI
Austin Pohlen 6'0 Grand Rapids
Joe Burt 6'1 Cathedral
Caleb Jansen 6'4 Pierz
Mike Spoden 6'8 Grand Rapids

I'm BAAACCK!!!

I am expecting to have an exciting summer and so I want to let everyone know that at least weekly, I will be blogging again.

Running an AAU program is a lot of work, and Sunday nights/Monday mornings can be stressful with parents emails, and such. It is however something I love to do and am excited about continuing.

Very proud of how most of our girls seasons ended up, and the ones that are still playing are also having great seasons. We won two classic state championships at 14U and 15U and our 13s were really strong all year. The younger levels, we are really building strong teams, and I like that.

On our boys side we are really rolling and expanding on what we have been building the past four years since we really started to have a say in the direction of the organization. I am excited about planning a golf outing and also our Fall exposure, and also excited about coaching my team(16U) going forward.

I really respect the Jake Sullivan's, Willie Vang's, Ben Davis's of the world who coach their top team and also run the program. I am really thinking of getting out of the coaching aspect, but I am loving my team right now, and the challenges of building a great 16s next year might be too fun to pass up. I know how much work those guys put in, and also put their heart and sole into coaching. Jake and I have young children, so it makes it even more work. I am really lucky Josh Hanson does such an amazing job with our 17s so I don't have to coach them, and deal with 100 percent of the recruiting as well.

Fun weekend, boys state tourney, two girls teams in Sioux Falls. Lot's to report next week.
